THEME OF ODW

The theme for our first edition is Culturally Connected which primarily focuses on spreading awareness and developing key strategies to optimally utilize local resources and skills in businesses.

The idea is to integrate design thinking into urban planning by strategically using the traditional resources for sustainable development. With rapid urbanisation, proper design planning is usually compromised. To tackle this mindfully, the focus is on merging design thinking in skill development, adopting system design in healthcare and instilling a sense of responsibility in modern design practices.

Odisha is not only abundant in traditional architecture & artforms but also full of precious minerals. However, it still remains a secret to many. ODW 21’ aims to bridge the gap between contemporary design practices and the cultural tradition of Odisha by bringing together local artisans and global design leaders on the same platform to share design knowledge and provide opportunities to create something novel and terrific.
